Adventures in Bowlingville

bq. Alex walked hesitantly into the Cloverleaf Bowling Alley. "You know guys, I haven't bowled for real before. Only Wii bowling." Charlie laughed as they got in line to get shoes. When they had finally gotten an alley, Alex was set to bowl fourth. As each of the different bowlers took their turns, Alex got increasingly nervous. His palms had gotten all sweaty and his heart was pounding. Finally, it was his turn to go up, so he took a ball, not aware that his fingers were too big for the holes. Then, Alex took the plunge and threw the bowling ball. The ball went flying up in the air, and landed in...another person's lane. Alex's face quickly turned a shade of red that you probably couldn't find in a Crayola crayon box. "Be more careful," said the alley owner. Alex quickly nodded as he sat back down, holding his head down. Yeah, that's classic Alex for you guys. :) This all just had to happen on Friday the 13th. I'm one superstitious Athiest. :) Random factoid: Paraskavedekatriaphobia is the fear of the number thirteen.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

bq. Another sigh echoed from the crowd of people waiting in front of the Century 21 movie theatre. They had been waiting outside for thirty minutes, and they still weren't let in. The clock finally struck eleven-thirty and the crowds of people rushed in pushing and shoving. My brother and I had finally gotten seats, when the lights started to dim. There were cheers from the different fanboys and fangirls scattered across the room. That was what the midnight premiere of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix was like. I, personally thought that the movie wasn't as good as the previous four, with the second movie being the best. The special effects were spectacular though -- especially on the fight scene at the end between Lord Voldemort and Dumbledore.
