Thundered

Ramblings of a Teenage Boy.

The night that would never end…

You see Alex walking up on stage, tripping over his cheap, ugly looking dress shoes, on his way to the piano. He bows and smiles nervously and then sits down on the piano bench. He starts his first musical piece, and then a few minutes into the song, he forgets the music completely. Normally, he would have just moved on to the next section, but this time, he didn't even know where he was in the song! Sweat covers his brow as he tries desperately to remember. Finally, he just stops and lets out a groan. All of a sudden, he starts to laugh maniacally, causing the audience to laugh with him. He was going to go all Hannibal Lecter on the audience, but he decided against it. After he finished his euphoric laugh, he shoots a pleading look toward his piano teacher who is smiling supportively. She walks over in her clanky high-heel shoes and shows him the music; "It's okay. Just look at the music if you forget again." He finally finishes the first piece, and smiles hesitantly at the audience who are shouting words like, "It's okay!" He starts the last song with a loud chord and the audience jumps out of their seats in surprise. Alex smiles to himself as he continues the song. After he finishes the last song, he stands up and almost falls off the stage when he's trying to bow. The audience giggles as he walks like a drunken man over to the exit of the stage... And that is the night that would never end. The night that I messed up for the first time at a piano recital. I felt so ashamed after that because everyone was expecting me to do well tonight, and instead, I messed up pretty badly. However, every cloud has a silver lining! I had the highest amount of votes for the "Best Performance" category at the award ceremony, even though I messed up pretty badly. I didn't win though, because my piano teacher made a rule stating that you could only win the award if you hadn't won the previous year. This eliminated me, because I had won the award four-years running. I'm not sure if that's a good thing... or not... So, what's the most embarrassing thing that's ever happened to you in public? Piano Recital #1Piano Recital #2
