Piano recitals

So, tomorrow is the big day... the piano recital that I've been practicing for for about... two months? I always get nervous about piano recitals, but this time, I'm well-prepared, so I have nothing to be nervous about; except maybe me falling off the stage. The thing I hate about piano recitals is how everyone is looking at you. Sure, I have to get used to it, but it still makes my hands sweaty nonetheless. I also hate it when you hear someone who is way better than you. You just want to go up on stage, and knock the socks off the audience and prove that you're just as good as said person, but... it's not that easy! I mean, when you get on stage, and that bright spotlight is on you, all bets are off. Anything can happen during a piano recital! Last year, one girl fainted because she got dizzy. At the end of the recital, my piano teacher lets the audience vote on who should get the award for Best Performance. I have won that award for the past three-years, and I am as sure as heck not going to let it slip out of my fingers. Sure, the prize is probably some cheap puzzle that the teacher bought at Walmart, but it gives you bragging rights! This year's recital song is pretty tough though. My fingers always hit the wrong keys when I'm playing fast notes. So, have you ever had to perform in front of an audience? Whether it be a musical recital, or maybe an oral presentation?
