New Years Party… *sigh*
I hate family parties. Hate them, hate them, hate them. Sure, I like parties, but I only like parties where I actually like the people there. Every year, my family hosts a New Years party, where we invite all our family 'friends'. They're tedious, boring, and usually someone ends up getting yelled at by me. I remember a time when I actually liked these parties. Those days are long gone. Even before the party starts, I'm already waiting for it to be over. The families that participate in these parties are... so much like Desperate Housewives; I might as well just change the street that I live on to Wisteria Lane. There are wives who've been cheated on, people who have been poisoned at parties, people who gossip like old women, and who knows what else? Comparing my family to the other families, we're actually like The Brady Bunch... and that's saying something  . Usually, these parties last about 6 hours. From 6 PM to 12 AM or later. Once, the party lasted until 4 AM because our parents were busy playing mahjong to care about the children who had already fallen asleep. I get incredibly irritable when I don't get enough sleep. If you subtract sleep from the Alex equation that is my life, you end up with something that looks and acts like Frankenstein. I yell, I scream, and one year, I even got so angry at someone because he was messing up my room, that I threw him out of the house. Literally. For a scrawny thirteen-year old, I'm stronger then I look. Here is an accurate depiction of what I look like during these parties. It also demonstrates my abilities with the Burn and Sponge tools in Adobe Photoshop. May not be suitable for people under... 67. This is Resident Evil all over again...
The people around me better run for their lives when they see me on the war path. It's like, Godzilla meets King Kong in the body of a thirteen-year old. PH34R M3!
This is how I'm going to spend my New Years. Yelling at high school students to leave my MacBook alone and locking my door, only coming out for food. Someone save me from this misery. However, the people at the parties know how to pick locks, so I'll probably have to blockade my door to stop them from irritating me. If you see the headlines, 'Thirteen-year old jumps out of two-story bedroom window in desperate attempt to escape party,' you'll know whom it was referring to.
So, do you have family parties? If so, do you actually like them?

Hahaha, I don’t know whether its fortunate or unfortunate that I’ve never been to one of these parties. My parents are too old, to (healthwise) frail and just don’t care to socialise. Once upon a time, I remember we used to go to a friends house and play mahjong till all hours of the night… but I enjoyed it because I played around in my parents-friends-children’s room. They were 18+ then, so they weren’t home and they had cool things in their room =D I also played mahjong, and won a few times so I liked it. Oh, I miss mahjong.
I wonder sometimes, the way these parents socialise… I have friends whos parents do these parties things, and then after they complain about everything that happened, everything that people said, how they didn’t want someone there… oh, my point is, I wonder whether they themself actually enjoy these parties, or if its just all for show and comparison. Hmm.
I hope you live through the parties to come, OR… steal all the alchohol (if your parents have it) and go crazy and act really really drunk, so they have to ban you from the parties… aw, what a shame…. hahaha =P
