Thundered

Ramblings of a Teenage Boy.

Goodbye my friend…

My cell phone was recently involved in an epic battle, involving a washer machine. Needless to say, it lost. I was just browsing the web and suddenly, my mom called me down and told me that my phone was "doomed" (sounded less dramatic in Chinese). She explained to me that I had left my phone in my pocket and she had put it into the wash. At first, I thought she was kidding because she was laughing, but then I saw my phone, and it was all wet. I always thought that my cell phone was indestructible. It survived many collisions with concrete, wooden floors, you name it. I even remember that it fell into a puddle of spit that was at the bottom of my saxophone (don't ask how). I got the phone from one of those free BOGO deals that Verizon was offering at the time. My dad got one and my mom got one, but then, my dad got a Blackberry because of his work so he gave me the phone. When I got the phone from my mom, I tried turning it on and the first thing that I noticed was that there were some dead pixels on the screen. Also, normally when you first turn on the phone, it has this welcome jingle, but this time, I couldn't hear it. As you could predict, I swore like a sailor. On the bright side, the phone was still able to receive text messages and it could call people, only I couldn't hear them talking back to me. So, now I'm back to using my old blue phone which was once my brother's. I'm still transferring all the photos that I took on that phone to my backup phone, since I had all these pictures from the Rascal Flatts concert that I went to. Frown At least on August 22, I get to replace it with... *queue dramatic music* The Voyager. What are some experiences that you've had with your cell phone?

Awww, poor phone. Frown My phone and I never have adventures. I don’t really care much about it. I just have it for emergencies and the odd text and updating Twitter while I’m out. It’s all very lame. I generally keep a phone for about a year and a half, get bored with it and have no phone, and then decide I need a phone again and get a new one. What a waste of money, huh? :P

I was able to upgrade my cell phone a few days ago with that New Every Two deal Verizon has, so I have a Motorola now.

I’ve always tried to take care of my phone though! Except my last one was the unfortunate victim of temper tantrums and such… only caused a bent antenna….

Hahaha, piles of spit on the bottom of your saxophone. And “doomed” hahah. Oh and the Voyager is SO kick ass. My boyfriend has it and he lets me play with it sometime.. It’s so cool! :D

Every cloud has a silver lining, I suppose!

And I just have a boring old KRZR.

Poor phone of yours! At least you got a replacement, and are soon to get an even cooler replacement XD

I have really bad luck with cellphones. Years ago my dad worked for a cellphone company, so he got pretty much every cellphone he wanted, and gave the previous one to me. I never had bad experiences with those, and I was always changing them for new ones. After he stopped working there and I had to get my own phone and pay for it with my own money - that’s when the bad luck with phones started. My first one (the first Motoroal RAZR), I had it for about 6 months before I accidental left it in a restroom at uni, and it was never turned it, so I got a new one. The new phone was a Motorola RAZR too, but I didn’t like it so much because it was somewhat different from my old one, and I never really got used to it. A couple of months later… I accidentally dropped it on a parking lot while it was raining heavily, and it fell into a puddle of dirty rainwater. When I noticed it missing I went back to where I heard something drop, and guess what… cars where riding over the puddle with my phone there. I retrieved it but it didn’t work, so I got yet another one (a Samsung blackjack, and I loooove it). Right after spending $200 on the new phone, the dead v3 came back to life and starting working perfectly. Gah. I still haven’t killed my Blackjack, this one is pretty sturdy.

Woooow… I just wrote a lot there. I hope you enjoy your new phone :D

Washers are kind of bad. They’ve also destroyed my sister’s cell phone, and my old pair of glasses. Frown

I’ve never owned a cell phone before, but I probably shouldn’t own one because I’m careless with them. A few years ago, I was attempting to make a strawberry smoothie. I put all the strawberries, and the milk, and all of the required ingredients in the blender, and I turned the blender on. Then, the blender made a horrifying noise, and it turned itself off instantly. Not only did I break the blender, but I completely destroyed my dad’s cell phone - which had fallen into the blender without my notice. I was grounded from the kitchen for about three months. :D

    Aw, that sucks.

My brother’s phone was toast after it died of water damage in the dairy at the grocery store.

I’ve never dropped my phone and I never want to. Frown

I don’t go on adventures with my phone. It doesn’t even have a camera, and it doesn’t connect to the computer (so, you know, I just take my camera and my mp3 player with me).

Haha, your poor phone. I’m not up to date with all this tech stuff, but I’m guessing the Voyager is the bottom left one.

    Mmm. It looks pretty spiffy.

Question: Why is there a random iPhone image in this post? xD

I have a very sexy LG Rumor, black color. It’s great and so far hasn’t failed me. Unfortunately, it is the only good looking phone Sprint has yet to produce, minus Blackberry and Palm phones.

Well, condolences on your phone. Technology progresses and they’ll make better phones! (hopefully)

Sorry about your phone. I’m p

Replace speakers in your phone, not that hard.

Are we going running at 7 tomorrow? I don’t care what time we go, just if we go.

The first phone I used was my mom’s old cell phone…I got water in it. And so it died…

The next NEW phone disappeared. I don’t really know if I lost it or someone took it >.>

So I use a really old phone now..

I need to stop destroying/losing cell phones..

Ugh, that sucks. Luckily, my mom doesn’t do my laundry, so I get the chance to search my pockets. I’m sorry your phone is ruined, I hate when that happens.

A couple of months ago, my phone just stopped. It wouldn’t turn on or charge or anything. It would just light up and die. I switched the battery and still… nothing.

I ended up getting a new phone because I wasn’t lucky enough to have a back up. Now I’m paying off my debt with chores. :D

Wow. Incredibly godly phone to still be somewhat-working after washing machine! Actually my first cellphone had dead pixels too, but I never had it go swimming. The only part of that screen which worked was like one line, so I could sorrrrrrt of read texts and I had to text back without seeing what I’m typing. :P And since I used predictive texting I had to memorise how many clicks to select the word I want.

But oh well, you’re getting a new phone! Albeit pretty late in August but that new one is worth waiting for! I was pretty happy a few days after I accidentally tipped fanta into my old laptop because I thought I could finally get a new laptop. Turned out I had to keep using that laptop for about another year after that. -_-

My phone has never been even in the same room as my washing machine.  I don’t like it, but there’s no reason why I shouldn’t use it, and since I’m on a three-year plan, I can’t get a new one for a long time. Frown

    ommgg your phone!

i would die if that happened to mine.

nothing bad has happened to my phone, yet *knocks on wood*

i keep it with me ALL the time and i keep it close,

i dont let anyone touch it either because i would be devastated

if it got dropped or something!

my friend dropped hers in the toilet hahaha. i dont know how

but its hilarrriousss. :P and now she has a new one,

and everyday in p.e she’d drop it in the locker room floors but it IS indestructable LMAO!

I have not played with the Voyager, but I work for Verizon web chat and I would totally go for the Samsung Glyde. If I was with Verizon as a cellphone company, I would have the Glyde. It is a lot like the Voyager but without Mobile TV. And really, no one gets Mobile TV because it isn’t available any where. lol But The Voyager over all, isn’t a bad phone at all. It is neat. :) Sorry, just thought I would give my 2cent since I would for the big VZW. lol
