Earth Hour
Earth Hour was interesting. I forced my parents to turn off all their electronics and we just sat in the dark. It was a good moment to reflect on the past, present, and future. However, this moment was ruined when I got up to get a drink of orange juice, and I tripped on my backpack, which was in the way. Well, I was in the dark; what did you expect to happen? I'm not the type of person who's able to traipse around their house in the dark without falling over something.
I just took out my iPod and listened to the Earth Hour playlist, which I put together ten minutes before. I would list the songs in my playlist, but I didn't want to give my readers a heart attack when they saw all the mainstream artists that I listen to. Hey, there is nothing wrong with a little Kelly Clarkson and P!nk... well, maybe there is.
My family and I sat in the living room, all doing our own little things. My mom was meditating (her new hobby), my dad was on his laptop doing some work, and I was listening to music. For the next thirty minutes of Earth Hour, my family and I went outside for a walk, and found that most of our street had their lights turned off. Coincidence? I think not. However, the hooligan that lives two houses away from me didn't have their lights turned off, and they were blasting loud rock music. There's nothing wrong with metal, but it's really out of place when people are trying to take a relaxing walk around the neighborhood.
So, how was your Earth Hour? Did you choose to participate? Why or why not?

Ouch ><
I didn’t participate because I had to finish all my homework

I didn’t participate because I believe in doing things 365 days of the year and not just a symbolic moment so you can say (a general “you”, by the way), “Hey, I’ve done my bit!“
——-
Yikes.
I forgot. *looks around*
How could I forget?! I was shopping at Wal-Mart for a school project and Walmart was doing an Earth Day… 2/3 of the lights were out. Maybe they just didn’t pay the bills - they lost 200 million (Oh, poor Wal-mart!).

I did it! My parents were so enthusiastic about it haha.

I think earth hour was stupid. I mean computers and appliances and cars still ran so what do turning the lights off achieve? People should turn out the lights when they leave the room and stuff anyway (Also agree with Amber says). Besides, my sister turned all the lights of downstairs and insisted they stayed off: and I’m scared of the dark. Getting a glass of water turned into a epic battle(ish) to get the lights back on. haha.
You’re earth hour sounded relaxing though : )

While it’s certainly not ENOUGH to do it for just one hour and insist upon your love for the environment because wow, you participated in Earth Hour, I think it’s still a step forward. Every little bit helps; at least this way I was forced to realize that while we may not make excellent progress in an hour’s worth, it’s still something saved as opposed to expended. Either way, my family was ecstatic about it really (my mum a little over enthusiastic, to the point of (un-national) chauvinism but that’s another story). We played games and sang songs like the crazy family we are. :)

I didn’t participate. I meant to, but totally forgot.
Maybe next year.

Uhh I don’t think it’s enough to just turn off lights. SHould’ve ditched the labtop and ipod too.
You know, i bet earth hour explained why it was all dark on the beach…

Earth Hour injured me too, would you believe! I also turned off every light in the house…and walked into the wall!
*fails*
I wonder how many other people hurt themselves during Earth Hour!?
