A new car!

Lexus RX  My parents told me that they were going car shopping yesterday, but I honestly wasn’t thinking that they would actually roll into our garage with a new car. My parents aren’t people who usually just go out and buy things; they usually have to think about buying it for a few days, weeks even! So, at around 7 PM yesterday, I hear the garage door open and a foreign sound—the quiet purr of a new car. I’m used to hearing the huge thunderous roaring of my mom’s old Volvo 850, so this came across as a shock to me.

So, I dash downstairs and thrust open the door to the garage and feast my eyes upon the new car. It’s a Lexus RX *insert model numbers* Hybrid. Apparently, it was the last of its kind at the car dealer my parents went to and the only color they had was white, so they just went with that (I would have preferred a darker color, but white is good too). I open the door of the car, and my nose is immediately struck with that new car smell. Sitting myself down inside the car, I see that it has a sun roof/moon roof (depending on what time of day), GPS (my family is notorious for getting lost), a DVD player, and more features that we don’t even know about yet. Did I mention that it’s a hybrid?

After that, my parents took me out to dinner (in the new car), and I have to say… it’s a totally different experience than the old Volvo. It’s smooth, comfortable, and less nauseating. I usually get incredibly car sick on car rides, even the shortest ones, but I didn’t feel any of that in this car. We should have bought this car before going down to San Diego… then I wouldn’t have suffered for eight long hours. I had my new Coldplay CD in hand, and I stuck it into the CD player and I wasn’t expecting the surround sound… but then my mom ejected the CD because she thought it as too distracting.

Congratulations on your family’s new car! :]
I, personally, am against the purchase of brand new cars, but I won’t rain on your parade my my negative opinions. :P

REally, though, a Lexus! That’s awesome!

That is a sexy new addition to your family. And a hybrid too, wow! They’re totally defying the Asian stereotypes. :P My parents have been thinking about buying a new car for MONTHS, but they’ve yet to actually decide which features they want, all the nitty gritty details which make me think that we’re probably never getting that car until I’m off to university. In fact, I told them to look at this exact car, but they’re still deciding. I think they’ll still be deciding in their graves or something.

Wow. That’s pretty spontaneous. When I was five, my mum and dad thought about getting a new car for, almost half a year before they actually did it. And it wasn’t even, like, a flashy Lexus (*cough* Alex) or anything, it was just a Toyota.

Yay, Viva la Vida! (Or so I’m guessing).

Congrats on the new car! My parents definitely are likes yours and they’ve bought new cars to my surprise about 4 times in the last 3 years. It was cool at first and then they sold my car :P

The new vehicle is sexy, I want it. Preferably in black, but I want it none the less. Also, happy ~200th~ blog!

    AHHH, that’s so exciting!

I abhor the new car smell, but I think I’d be able to overlook it if it was accompanied by a new car. Yay for smooth rides!

I’m assuming that photo isn’t a real photo of your own car? The guy at the front looks white and from memory, you are not. Haha.
It’s a cool car though, hybrid hooray. Congrats =)
I hope you have smooth car rides from now on and no more car-sickness! Motion sickness sucks, I get it quite often =(

Nice! :) My dad was looking at that for a while, but I guess he’s gotten bored with car shopping. That’s really spontaneous, though, even my parents don’t do it that quickly! XD
