Earth Hour

Earth Hour was interesting. I forced my parents to turn off all their electronics and we just sat in the dark. It was a good moment to reflect on the past, present, and future. However, this moment was ruined when I got up to get a drink of orange juice, and I tripped on my backpack, which was in the way. Well, I was in the dark; what did you expect to happen? I'm not the type of person who's able to traipse around their house in the dark without falling over something. I just took out my iPod and listened to the Earth Hour playlist, which I put together ten minutes before. I would list the songs in my playlist, but I didn't want to give my readers a heart attack when they saw all the mainstream artists that I listen to. Hey, there is nothing wrong with a little Kelly Clarkson and P!nk... well, maybe there is. My family and I sat in the living room, all doing our own little things. My mom was meditating (her new hobby), my dad was on his laptop doing some work, and I was listening to music. For the next thirty minutes of Earth Hour, my family and I went outside for a walk, and found that most of our street had their lights turned off. Coincidence? I think not. However, the hooligan that lives two houses away from me didn't have their lights turned off, and they were blasting loud rock music. There's nothing wrong with metal, but it's really out of place when people are trying to take a relaxing walk around the neighborhood. So, how was your Earth Hour? Did you choose to participate? Why or why not?
