bq. You see a tall, mysterious looking brunette girl creeping closer to the basement door. You all of a sudden hear screaming and wailing in the basement. The girl's eyes widen in fear as she slowly reaches out for the door knob.
In the background, you hear the string section playing fast eighth notes to create a feeling of suspense.
The girl slowly turns the door knob, and you hear a heart pounding. Thump thump, thump thump. She breaks into a cold sweat, as she walks through the door.
'AHHHHHHHHHH.'
Then... the girl is no more.
Have you ever noticed that some movies aren't generally scary until you hear the music in the background? I believe that it's not the plot, or the characters that make a horror movie horrifying, but the suspenseful music. Such as, in When a Stranger Calls, the main character walks down a dark hallway, and you can hear string instruments playing really fast high notes. You also hear low brass instruments such as trombone and tuba blasting sharp accented quarter notes. I hope I'm not the only person who notices this... Then I'd be an official band geek.
Also, with most horror movies, everything seems to be faded in colour to create the feelings of despair. At least, thats what it does to me.
My brother goes to college at UCSD, so I know plenty of good hotels down there. In my opinion, the
Ivy Hotel in San Diego is by far, the best hotel there is. I mean, it even got a five star rating. Now that's saying something. The room types consist of suites, jacuzzi suites, penthouse suites, and of course, the presidential suites. I would kill for a room with a jacuzzi. They also have a nightclub, for all your wannabe Lindsay Lohan's out there.
I finished the final installment of the Harry Potter series in a mere three hours and forty-five minutes. Once I came home from the Grand Hallows Ball at Borders, I just couldn't put down the book, even though I was dead tired.
It's hard to believe that there won't be another book. It seems like I grew up with the book, since I started reading it when I was around seven. It's also hard to envision J.K. Rowling writing anything other then Harry Potter.
I thought the book was an excellent way to end the series. From start to finish, the book was filled with drama as well as tender, endearing moments.
I've always been self-conscious about my nose. In my opinion, it's a tad too small. If you feel the same way, and life in Miami, visit
rhinoplasty in miami. There, they'll fix your nose right up for you. Maybe I could fix the little bump in the ridge of my nose. If only I lived in Miami...
Random factoid: In Chinese tradition, if you die in red clothes, you turn into an evil ghost.
